Kodak Portra 400 and I have been holding hands recently. I am not monogamous with film but if I had to choose, well... Portra 400 would be in my life forever. And Portra would be loaded into my Contax 645. Shooting medium format and having Richard Photo Lab do the developing and scanning is my favourite combo. Cheers to the future Richard Photo, you will see all of mine in the film I send you. I have tried to scan my own negatives before and enjoyed myself more hitting my head against a wall. I can not come close the colour and consistency Richard pulls out of my negatives.
There are some key people who setup the weekend and need to be thanked many times over. Johnny Patience and his wife Rebecca, and Bijan Sabet. All are not only great photographers and instructors but the kindest souls around. The NYCWLK was a success due to them, thank-you.
NYCWLK was an all day event, starting with meeting at a Leica store and learning from Johnny until the afternoons photowalk followed by a night cap at a Brooklyn restaurant. I am game for another weekend like this, make it happen Johnny.
We all get by with a little help and Richard Photo Lab, Lumu light meter, Kodak Alaris, Leica Store SoHo and Ona all stood by and chipped in. Thank-you very much.
